For this grandmother, we started by discussing the overall look she wanted, what finger she planned to wear it on, and her preferred metal: 14K yellow gold, which offered a rich and timeless warmth to complement the vibrant birthstones.
Each of the seven stones represented one of her grandchildren, based on their birth months. Each gemstone varies in availability and value (hey hey… April diamonds and August peridots!), we carefully sourced each stone to ensure the final layout was both symbolic and harmonious.
The design process included:
- Initial sketches based on her concept
- Design renderings so she could visualize the final product before we cast it
- Hand-sourcing each birthstone for quality, cut, and color balance
- Laying out the stones to ensure a visually stunning arrangement
- Casting, polishing, and stone setting done by our expert jeweler
- Final inspection, appraisal, and packaging with love
Throughout the process, she was kept in the loop, reviewing design images, approving layouts, and making key decisions that would personalize the piece even more. In the end, her husband came in to pick up the finished ring and surprised her with it. A beautiful gesture to match a beautiful creation.
